Educational Objectives 

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify signs and symptoms concerning for a bone marrow failure syndrome
  • Explain the diagnosis and management of single cytopenias and pancytopenias due to bone marrow failure syndromes
  • Recognize that hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is only curative for hematologic complications of most bone marrow failure syndromes
  • Recall that Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome has a normal sweat electrolyte test
