UPMC Harrisburg Reported as Above Average in Kidney Transplant Outcomes by SRTR

Reported by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR), we are proud to announce that UPMC Kidney Transplant Program at UPMC Harrisburg has been highly ranked nationally in two distinct outcome categories. UPMC Harrisburg ranks above average for 1-year survival rate following kidney transplantation with a functioning living-donor graft as well as 1-year Conditional survival with a functioning graft.

With an estimated 1-year survival rate of 100%, UPMC ranks above average among other transplant centers in the United States in 1-year survival rates for kidney transplant with a functioning living-donor graft. From January 1, 2021, to June 30, 2023, our team performed 52 transplants. The estimated probability of surviving with a functioning living-donor graft at 1 year is 100% at UPMC Harrisburg compared to 97.70% at centers nationwide. There were no observed graft failures during the first year after transplant for UPMC Harrisburg patients.

The UPMC Kidney Transplant Program at UPMC Harrisburg additionally ranks above average for 1-year Conditional survival with a functioning graft with an estimated 1-year survival rate of 99.03% compared to 97.20% at centers nationwide. From January 1, 2021, to June 30, 2023, our team performed 124 transplants.
