Welcome New UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Doctors

Veronica Eisen, MD, is a radiation oncologist at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, Independence Health System in Butler. She is board certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Eisen received her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y., and completed her residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Curtis McCloskey, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Computational and Systems Biology at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. McCloskey’s research aims to drive new understanding of ovarian and breast cancers by identifying novel therapeutic vulnerabilities and developing critical model systems for therapeutic discovery. At UPMC Hillman, he’ll develop an independently funded and nationally recognized research program in Cancer Biology, which will include collaborative efforts with both basic research and clinical faculty across our center.

Shirley Ong, MD, is a neuro-oncologist at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Shadyside. She is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Ong received her medical degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center College of Medicine in the Philippines and completed her residency at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
